When the architect totally gets you!

With the majority of our work often hidden behind walls and facades, there is nothing more rewarding as a structural engineer than seeing our designs become architectural focal points in the final product. This is exactly what Gallin Beeler Design Studio did with the design of Pleasantville Lofts, which incorporates the beauty of the steel columns, beams, braces and girders we designed into the upscale, industrial aesthetic.

Pleasantville Lofts is a 180,000 SF, 4-story mixed-use building located in the heart of Pleasantville, NY. It features 79 market-rate residential units, 8 affordable housing units and over 7,500 SF of retail space. The property also boasts a roof top terrace, expansive courtyard and 3 levels of underground parking

Cuono Engineering provided the structural designs for this project. The superstructure framing consists of steel beams and columns with a concrete on metal deck floor system and a combination of braced frames and moment frames for the lateral system. The structural framing for the 1st floor and underground levels consist of a two-way cast in place slab system incorporating concrete transfer beams supported on concrete columns and shear walls.
