In 2018 a fire burnt down St. Joseph’s Chapel on the Mary Help of Christian’s Campus in North Haledon New Jersey, home to the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco. On August 20th of this year, nearly 4 years later, the very first mass was held to consecrate the newly designed and constructed chapel. Among the attendees to celebrate the reopening of the chapel was Cuono Engineering’s Founder and Principal, Ciro Cuono, P.E.
Cuono Engineering, working with schematic renderings by Acheson Doyle Partners, provided structural design services for the temporary shoring and bracing of the existing structure while the chapel was being demolished and reconstructed. Our services for this 9,200 SF replacement chapel also included the installation of a new elevator connecting the new chapel with the adjacent building.
The Cuono team is happy to finally see the completed work, but more importantly to see a place of worship safely constructed and once again useable by its students and parishioners. We congratulate the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco for all their hard work and efforts in fundraising for this project.
