Cuono Engineering is pleased to announce the recent renovation project that we have embarked on with Chabad of Port Washington. Founded in 1991, Chabad House serves as a welcoming and inclusive center for the community, regardless of affiliation or background. Over the last decade, Chabad has experienced significant growth, leading to the establishment of an educational campus, Jewish day school, library, and social hall.
The new renovation plans focus both on the exterior appearance as well as the internal functionality. In collaboration with James Thomas Martino Architect and Andco Contracting, these plans feature a stunning new façade that includes an exterior glass partition highlighting a brand new staircase. Cuono Engineering has been contracted to design the structural renovations for the existing building, starting with the first phase of a monumental new stair and LULA lift between the 1st and 2nd floors. This phase will involve modifications to the existing framing and foundations to accommodate the proposed stair opening and shaft.
The second phase of the project will focus on various exterior façade modifications to enhance the overall look and functionality of the building.

We are excited to see the transformation of Chabad of Port Washington and how these renovations will further enhance the sense of community and belonging for all who walk through its doors. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
